No more hunching over the worktop
The ErgoCutter is the adjustable cutting board riser for everyone in the kitchen who is taller than 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in). Made of stainless steel. Place it on the worktop, put your GastroNorm cutting board in it and choose one of 10 positions between 6.5 and 44 cm (2.5 to 17.3 in). Why an 85 cm worktop is too low
A standard kitchen worktop is 85 to 91 cm (33 to 36 in) high. If you are taller than 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in), your ideal cutting height is around 100 to 110 cm. So you spend the whole shift hunched over.
The result is a posture Quasimodo would be proud of, but one your back and neck won't put up with for long. Work like that every day and chronic pain follows sooner or later.
Raising the countertop doesn't solve it. It's expensive, and colleagues of different heights share the same worktop. What suits one person is too high for another. The ErgoCutter adjusts per person.

How the ErgoCutter works
- Place it on your worktop. The non-slip feet keep it in place.
- Choose your position. 10 positions from 6.5 to 44 cm. Every colleague picks their own height.
- Put your cutting board in. A standard GastroNorm 1/1 board fits exactly.
- Cut standing upright. After your shift, it goes in the dishwasher.
What is your ideal cutting height?
A rule of thumb from ergonomics: your work surface should be about 12 cm (5 in) below your elbow when you stand relaxed and upright.
Enter your height and the height of your worktop below. You'll see right away how much higher your cutting board needs to be.
- Ideal cutting height
- 105 cm
- Raise needed
- 20 cm
That's within the range of the ErgoCutter (6.5 to 44 cm).
Estimate based on average body proportions: elbow at about 63% of your height, work surface 12 cm below.

Who is the ErgoCutter for?
Kitchen staff taller than 1.80 m
Chefs, cooks and kitchen assistants: cut upright, without straining your neck and back every single shift.
Restaurants and hospitality
Give every chef their own working height at the same worktop.
Catering and care kitchens
For corporate catering and large kitchens, usable across locations.
Culinary schools
Teach students who are taller than average to work healthily from day one.

For employers: healthy staff stay
Back and neck pain leads to sick leave, and absence for these complaints often lasts long. A single day of absence quickly costs an employer hundreds of euros in wages, replacement and lost production. The ErgoCutter costs less than a few days of sick leave.
In most European countries, employers must provide a healthy workplace and prevent physical overload. An adjustable working height is a concrete, affordable measure. And in a tight labour market it shows you care about your people.

Stories from the kitchen

It's an investment but it's worth it! I am very satisfied with it. I can no longer imagine working without it. Working long days standing behind my cutting board without back pain has become a reality.

Since I started using the cutting board riser, I really notice a difference. Way less pain in my back! 180% satisfied.

Very happy with the ErgoCutter! We use it in multiple locations. It even inspired us to elevate one of our worktops.

Great invention! Could have saved me a lot of back and neck problems. It's great to help tall students prevent this.

Our tall chef in the kitchen is very happy with the ErgoCutter customising his workspace. Easy to use and clean. Thanks!

The lunch must taste better now that we prepare the sandwiches without back pain!

Frequently asked questions
What is a cutting board riser?
A cutting board riser is a stand you place on the worktop to raise your cutting board. You cut at the right working height without raising the countertop itself. The ErgoCutter is an adjustable stainless steel cutting board riser for professional kitchens.
From what height do I need a cutting board riser?
If you are taller than about 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in), a standard 85 to 91 cm (33 to 36 in) worktop is usually too low for cutting. You end up hunched over. Rule of thumb: your work surface should be about 12 cm (5 in) below your elbow.
How high does the ErgoCutter go?
Folded, it is 6.5 cm (2.5 in) high. In the highest position it is 44 cm (17.3 in). With 10 positions you can reach your ideal working height on practically any worktop.
Which cutting board fits?
A standard GastroNorm 1/1 cutting board of 530 × 325 mm, about 15 mm thick. Almost every professional kitchen already has one. The board is not included.
What is the ErgoCutter made of?
High-quality stainless steel and Teflon (PTFE). Both materials are food safe, so it fits right into your HACCP routine.
